Stuart has a Bachelor of Arts, BA Hons, and PhD in Psychology. He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Association of Psychologists inc, Fellow of the APS College of Sport and Exercise Psychology, and holds Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency endorsement as a General Psychologist and a Sport & Exercise Psychologist. He is a Psychology Board approved supervisor for trainee psychologists.
Stuart has over 20 years experience in hospitals, universities, community mental health, rehabilitation, corporate services, sport institutes, and private practice. Previously at the South Australian Sports Institute and the ACT Academy of Sport, he was Assistant Professor in Psychology at University of Canberra from 2011-2016. He is an internationally recognized researcher in psychophysiology and behavioural neuroscience, with over 50 scientific publications.
In addition to sport psychology, Stuart has particular interest in anxiety, depression, stress, and pain. He specializes in Cognitive and Behavioural approaches, including CBT, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy.
