Stuart has a Bachelor of Arts, BA Hons, and PhD in Psychology. He is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Association of Psychologists inc, Fellow of the APS College of Sport and Exercise Psychology, and holds Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency endorsement as a General Psychologist and a Sport & Exercise Psychologist. He is a Psychology Board approved supervisor for trainee psychologists.
Stuart has over 20 years experience in hospitals, universities, community mental health, rehabilitation, corporate services, sport institutes, and private practice. He has worked for the South Australian Sports Institute, the ACT Academy of Sport, and the Australian Institute of Sport, and was Assistant Professor in Psychology at University of Canberra from 2011-2016. He is an internationally recognized researcher in psychophysiology and behavioural neuroscience, with over 50 scientific publications (see Resources & Research).
Stuart specializes in Cognitive and Behavioural approaches to therapy, including CBT, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Rational-Emotive Behaviour Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy.
